SCOPE OF WORK The scope of work designed to meet the objectives will include the following tasks: • Acquire an encroachment permit from the City of Stockton. • Acquire drilling permits from the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD). • Mark boring locations for Underground Service Alert (USA) notification. • Prepare a Site-Specific Health and Safety Plan. • Conduct a pre-construction meeting with a representative from the City of Stockton Public Works Department. • Schedule a drilling subcontractor and notification of the Agencies having jurisdiction to inspect the work. • Advance one hydropunch boring (HP3), approximately 200 feet south of the Site, for collection of soil samples to an approximate depth of 30 feet bgs. • Further advance boring HP3 to a depth of 60 feet bgs for collection of groundwater samples at approximately 40 feet bgs and 60 feet bgs. • Advance one hydropunch boring (HP4) approximately 500 feet southeast of the Site to approximately 80 feet bgs for collection of groundwater samples from approximately 40 feet bgs, 60 feet bgs and 80 feet bgs • Laboratory analysis of soil and groundwater samples. • Evaluate data and prepare a report. SUBSURFACE INVESTIGATION ACTIVITIES All boring and sampling activities will be performed under the direction of a State-Certified Engineering Geologist or Professional Geologist in accordance with applicable regulations and accepted engineering practice and protocol. Field procedures to guide field personnel during the conduct of field work are included in Appendix C. PRE-FIELD ACTIVITIES Prior to the initiation of drilling activities, FREY personnel will obtain an encroachment permit from the City of Stockton for advancement of two hydropunch borings within the City of Stockton's right-of-way. Upon acquisition of the encroachment permit, drilling permits will be obtained from the SJCEHD. Upon acquisition of the permits, USA will be notified of the date and location of the proposed boring activities. A Site-Specific Health and Safety plan will also be prepared in advance of the field activities. DIRECT PUSH SOIL SAMPLING Each boring will be hand augered to a depth of 5 feet bgs to assess the presence of any unmarked utilities or other shallow subsurface obstruction that may be present at the boring locations prior to advancement of the borings. Soil samples will be collected from boring HP3 using a discrete core sampling system designed for the direct push rig.
