Results of data analysis will be included in the final report.Relevant data will be <br /> uploaded to GeoTracker GAMA. <br /> Step 8:Subsidence Mitigation Effectiveness: <br /> Coordination with other grant monitoring efforts <br /> Subsidence of organic delta soils is primarily due to microbial oxidation oforganic material and the CO2 <br /> released to the atmosphere is the final product of this process.Thus,we have two independent <br /> measurements of subsidence.The comparison between baseline subsidence and project soil accretion <br /> will assess the effects of flooding the landscape on subsidence.Methane is a very powerful greenhouse <br /> gas and can overwhelm the sequestration of CO2 by vegetation.However,the methane contribution to <br /> the total mass exchange is minimal and thus doesn't affect in any significant way the annual accumulation <br /> of wetland biomass into new soil layers. <br /> Coordination with post-implementation monitoring <br /> Post-implementation land-surface elevation monitoring will be based on the same methodology used <br /> for baseline monitoring.Land surface elevation,groundwater levels,CO2 flux,and environmental variables <br /> will all be measured after conversion and analyzed using the same models and procedures. <br /> Step 9: Subsidence Adaptative management Plan <br /> In the case that measured subsidence rates differ greatly from previously modeled subsidence in <br /> southern Staten to subsidence measured from regional lidar monitoring,or between the two planned <br /> locations,the additional monitoring may be implemented to update the SUBCALC model to reflect new <br /> baseline subsidence. <br />
