Mr. Tom Horton Project 939-03 . 13
March .25, 1988
•Page 3
Subtask 6-1 - Landfill Characterization
An analysis describing how the ground water and surface water may
affect the landfill and how the landfill may affect ground water and
surface water will be included in the SWAT report, according to
Section 2595(a) of Title 23, Chapter 3, Subchapter 15 of the Califor-
nia Administrative Code.
Subtask 6- - Topographic Characterization
A base map will be prepared of the landfill and the surrounding region
within 1 mile showing elevation contours, natural ground slopes,
drainage patterns, and other features, according to Section 2595(d) of
Subchapter 15.
Subtask 6-3 - Geologic Characterization
Based on data from previous site investigations (Ground-Water xplora-
tion Program. Corral Hollow Landfill San Joaquin County. California,
EMCON Associates, January 1988) and the monitoring wells proposed in
Task 1, a geologic map and geologic cross sections of the landfill
will be prepared showing lithology and structural features. The cross
sections will be indexed to the geologic map and located to best
portray geologic features relevant to the landfill .
A description of the geologic materials at the site and its surround-
ings, including identification of soil types, stratigraphy, mode of
deposition, and other pertinent lithologic data will be prepared.
This description will include the geologic structure where identifi-
able, including the attitude of bedding; thicknesses of beds, the
nature, type, and orientation of any folds; the location, attitude,
and nature of any faults; and other pertinent structural data.
Subtask 6-4 - Hydrogeologic Characterization
An evaluation of the water-bearing characteristics of the natural
geologic materials identified at the site will be performed by incor-
porating data from previous site investigations (EMCON Associates,
January 1988) with data from permeability tests performed in the
proposed monitoring wells. Based on published data and data from the
existing and proposed monitoring wells, an evaluation of the perennial
direction(s) of ground-water movement within the uppermost ground-
water zone(s) within 1 mile of the landfill perimeter will be per-
formed.
Subtask 6-5 - Regional Land-Use and Water-Use Survey
A regional land-use and water-use survey is needed for the SWAT
report. A map showing the locations of monitoring wells, water wells,
oil/gas wells, geothermal wells, and springs will be prepared for
submittal with the SWAT report, according to Section 2595(h) (1) of
Subchapter 15. If available, pertinent well information (e.g. , owner,
C _ ('Y
