9/14/2005. A copy of the Uniform Hazardous Waste Manifest was provided to <br />the Department of Toxic Substances Control. <br />Shop in the truck shop area. Training of employees working in the area was <br />conducted by Jeffery Kinder, CFR Services. The training included the storage <br />and handling of liquids used in the truck shop area. <br />Costs: <br />Removal of the material from the DE tank by Philips Services. $ 5,128.00 <br />Training of the employees working in the truck shop area. $ 1,000.00 <br />Complaint: <br />d. Failed to maintain all communication or alarm systems, spill control, or decon <br />equipment, in violation of California Code of Regulations, Title 22, section <br />66265.33. <br />Environmental Health Department: <br />The response gear was apparently not maintained as it was stored in a <br />contaminated state. Also, there was no indication of annual maintenance for <br />required equipment. Also, eyewashes on site are not being maintained as they are <br />collecting debris and eye covers are not being used. Maintain all equipment as <br />required by the code section. <br />Sierra Chemical Response and Action: <br />By letter dated August 30, 2005 Ms Foley was informed that the response gear <br />should no longer be an issue as a policy decision was made by Sierra Chemical to <br />revise our Emergency Response Policy. The revised policy consists of only <br />Notification as per the California Hazardous Material Spill/Release Notification <br />Guidance and support by Technician Level Trained Personnel to the Local Fire <br />Department. Copies of the Interim Procedure were provided to Ms Foley and <br />Dennis Fields. We have completed and adopted our new Emergency Action Plan. <br />Training has been conducted on the new plan. <br />Eye wash stations were repaired or replaced as necessary. Pictures were provided <br />as verification. All employees were retrained on the maintenance and use of eye <br />wash stations. <br />Costs: <br />Preparation of the new Emergency Action Plan by CFR Services. $ 300.00 <br />New eye wash station and covers. $ 50.00 <br />Complaint: <br />e. Stored hazardous waste onsite for longer that 90 days without a permit or <br />authorization, in violation of Health and Safety Code, section 25201(a). <br />Environmental Health Department: <br />
