Sierra Chemical Response and Action: <br />Letter from Lonnie Kellar to Kent Miller, October 24, 2002 — Separation and <br />containment of incompatible materials (along west fence line): I would like to mention, <br />however, that there has been a lot of activity in this area. The first of which was <br />identifying all containers as to contents as well as readable labels, separation by chemical <br />class, and relocating some items to areas within the warehouse <br />Cost: NA <br />Complaint: <br />13.i. Violation of CFC, Article 79, section 7902.1.6, failed to separate incompatible hazardous <br />materials from flammable and combustible liquids, and failed to accumulate waste Class <br />I, II and II -A liquids in a safe manner at a storage site <br />Fire Safety Inspection, July 18, 2002: <br />Inside Storage Area — North 3: Secondary containment is required for the storage of <br />barrels of oil. This containment must be a separate containment from the finished <br />products. CFC, 7902.1.6 and 8001.7 <br />Sierra Chemical Response and Action: <br />Storage of oil is within a plastic containment of approximate storage capacity of 175 <br />gallons. Storage of oil will be relocated to shop building under proposed warehouse plan <br />Cost: NA <br />Complaint: <br />13j. Violation of CFC, Article 80, section 8003.3.1.2, failure to provide internally sprinklered <br />gas cabinets, exhausted enclosure and gas rooms for the storage of cylinders <br />Fire Safety Inspection, July 18, 2002: <br />Inside Storage Area — North 4C: Transfer of chlorine gas from one -ton cylinders to "H" <br />containers shall be conducted in an approved gas room. The following is the criteria for <br />the required gas room: C. The gas room shall have sprinklers installed. CFC, 8003.3.1.2 <br />Sierra Chemical Response and Action: <br />No Violation — The chlorine repackaging room is equipped with fire sprinklers. <br />Cost: NA <br />Complaint (Code Reference 8003.3.1.3.1 vs. 8002.2.1.2.1): <br />13.k. Violation of CFC, Article 80, section 8003.3.1.3.1, failure to store portable and stationary <br />tanks within gas rooms or exhausted enclosures; the room or area in which gas cabinets <br />or exhausted enclosures are located shall be provided with exhausted ventilation <br />
