Fire Safety Inspection, July 18, 2002: <br />Inside Storage Area — North 4G: Emergency power shall be provided in lieu off standby <br />power for: 1) Exhaust ventilation, including the power supply for treatment systems; 2) <br />Gas detection systems; 3) Emergency alarm systems; 4) Temperature -control systems. <br />CFC 8001.10.3 and 8003.3.1.4 <br />Sierra Chemical Response and Action: <br />Collins Electrical Company Inc. Performed a Review of the Emergency Generator <br />System the Week of 2/5/2006, and determined that the compressors, chlorine scrubber, <br />and caustic feed motor are provided power from the emergency generator. The chlorine <br />and sulfur dioxide gas leak detectors have battery backup. <br />Cost: Collins Electrical Company Inc. $965.00 (Review) <br />Complaint: <br />13.n. Violation of CFC, Article 80, section 8003.3.1.6, failure to provide a continuous gas <br />detection system which will detect the presence of gas at or below the permissible <br />exposure limit and initiate a local alarm and transmit a signal to a constantly attended <br />control station <br />Fire Safety Inspection, July 18, 2002: <br />Inside Storage Area — North 5: A continuous gas -detection system shall be provided to <br />detect the presence of gas at or below the permissible exposure limit. The detection <br />system shall initiate a local alarm and transmit a signal to a constantly attended control <br />station. The alarm shall be both visual and audible.
