Sep 23 1507:30a Jiffylube 598• 2398763 p.7 <br /> SPCC Overview, Training Outline and Training Record <br /> SPCC TRAINING OUTLINE <br /> Each franchisee should ensure that each of its employees receive training on Spill <br /> Prevention, Control, and Countermeasures (SPCC) as required by regulation_ We <br /> recommend that the Store Manager be responsible for conducting and documenting the <br /> initial and annual training of each employee on the SPCC Training Record at the end of <br /> this section. At a minimum, training and instruction should incorporate the following <br /> information. <br /> Operation and maintenance of equipment to prevent discharges <br /> Employees should understand the operation and maintenance of all equipment that is <br /> utilized in oil handling, transfers, monitoring, or storage. Examples include tank/drum oil <br /> storage, high level alarms and inventory gauges, filter crushing/puncturing devices, <br /> sumps and berms, oil drain pans, and piping, <br /> oischarge Procedure Protocols <br /> Employees should be aware of their responsibilities for responding and reporting spills. <br /> Employees should know the location of spill response equipment and fhe proper <br /> response procedures for small spills. Employees should be aware of the actions to take <br /> for large spills to ensure employee safety and timely third party response. Appendix A, <br /> Discharge Contingency Plan, in the SPCC Plan describing proper response procedures <br /> should be reviewed in detail. <br /> Applicable pollution control laves, rules, and regulations <br /> Employees should be aware of the requirements of 40 CFR 112 for a SPCC Plan <br /> including spill prevention, control, response, and reporting. Employees should be aware <br /> Of potential civil and criminal penalties for failure to comply with regulations, <br /> General Facility operations <br /> Employees should understand the facility layout, operations, and materials with <br /> discharge potential. Employees should be knowledgeable on facility operations, product <br /> storage, oil handling equipment use, and job responsibilities. <br /> Contents of store SPCC Plan <br /> Employees should understand the information and procedures provided in the SPCC <br /> plan to enable spill prevention and response. Each section of the SPCC Plan should be <br /> reviewed with employees. Each employee should be familiar with the following: <br /> 1.
