• Antonini Enterprises <br /> Spill Prevention, Clean Up and Reporting Training <br /> Revised <br /> Purpose: <br /> The purpose of this training is to provide information on appropriate procedures for spill prevention, clean up <br /> and reporting for spills of petroleum and other hazardous materials at the Antonini facility. <br /> Applicability: <br /> This training is applicable to Antonini employees who work around petroleum and/or other hazardous <br /> materials and include all drivers and maintenance crew. This training is intended to be provided to new <br /> hires within the first week of employment and to all employees on an annual basis. <br /> Training and Recurrence: <br /> The training will be taught in-house by Antonini Safety Supervisor and/or Maintenance Manager.Annual <br /> training will be provided during the First Quarter of each year.Training records will be retained by the Safety <br /> Supervisor for a period of no less than tree years. <br /> 1. Spill Prevention - Materials and Waste Handling and Storage <br /> • If possible,liquid or hazardous materials should be handled,used,stored, re-package and transferred <br /> indoors or under cover. <br /> • Deliveries of bulk liquids shall be supervised by Antonini employees. <br /> • Cover and contain containers,materials and wastes. <br /> • --Keep all containers closed unless adding or removing materials. <br /> • Employees using the diesel or gasoline fuel dispenser must undergo initial and annual training on <br /> proper use and operation.This is separate training. <br /> 2. Spill Kit Maintenance <br /> • Spill kits are located at the(1))Refueling Bays and(2)Maintenance Shop Area <br /> • Each Spill Kit contains a minimum 1 garbage can of"kitty litter"sorbent, I garbage can for receiving <br /> used sorbent material, 1 square point shovel, / sweep broom,and 1 dustpan. <br /> • Each spill kit shall contain the contact information of Safety Supervisor and Maintenance Manager. <br /> • The Safety Supervisor and/or Maintenance Manager islare responsible for spill kits inventory,re- <br /> ordering supplies,and coordinating disposal of spent sorbent. <br /> • Inspection of spill kit and re-supplying is done quarterly by Safety Supervisor and/or Maintenance <br /> Manager,or sooner if needed. <br /> • Employees using the kits shall report deficiencies to Safety Supervisor and/or Maintenance Manager. <br /> 3. Spill Clean Up <br /> • Clean up minor spills immediately. <br /> • Never hose down spills or leaks. <br /> • Always use"Dry Clean up Methods"for clean up of fuel spills(gas,diesel,motor oil or kerosene). <br /> o Spread absorbents("kitty litter"or loose absorbents,sheets,pillows, pigs,or socks)on the spill. <br /> o Sweep up or pick up the absorbed materials. <br /> o Dispose of wastes property within marked receptacles. <br /> • If fluids are leaking or have spilled on an impermeable surface,such as concrete,dike or berm with <br /> sorbent material to minimize spill movement. <br /> • Put down absorbent on the spill area. <br /> • After clean up, be sure to sweep up the contaminated sorbent and remove the berm or dike,disposing <br /> of these materials in marked receptacles. <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br />
