The used oil tank is constructed
of 3/8"steel plate and has a diameter of 72"and is 114"high.
The tank is standing vertically on a 2.5" concrete sill above
the concrete containment floor. The exposed containment
floor indicates that the concrete floor is a minimum of 6"
thick. The containment wall is constructed of 8" precast
concrete block that is 24" high and the cells are filled with m
grout.
Condition of Facility Tanks and Containment
All of the tanks and piping in the facility were in very good
condition. No tank or piping leakage was observed. The
valves and pumps were in very good condition with no leaks
or corrosion observed. There is evidence that any spills have
been cleaned up and the containment floor is free of any oil
or fuel. The used oil tank was found void of the proper
seismic anchorage. Piping and tanks have been painted and
the coatings are in very good condition.
The block wall secondary containment is in very good Figure1 (Waste Oil Tank West View
condition.
