Vorster
Senior Engineer
California Regional Water Quality
Control Board
Central Valley Region
3201 S Street
Sacramento, CA 95816-7090
Re: Letter of February 20, 1986, Complaint Investigation,
Holly Sugar Corporation, San Joaquin County - Item #3
Dear Ms. Vorster:
Attached please find a copy of the analysis performed on lead levels
as addressed in Item #3 of the "Findings" portion of Mr. Azevedo's letter
of February 20, 1986.
A wet extract analysis for lead concentration (EPA Method 7421) was
conducted per the instructions outlined in Mr. Azevedo's letter. It should
be noted that the analysis was performed on a portion of the original core
samples as taken during the investigation of November 8, 1985. The sample
ID numbers (i.e., HS -1, 2, and 4), listed as "Client No.," were retained for
reference to the original set of analysis as performed by the same lab for
metal and organic screening.
The results of the testing series indicate the lead levels of the extract
are below the detection limit as indicated by the <0.01 mg/l concentration in
each of the samples.
HFG/cdj
Attach.
cc: Mr. Richard G.
