Richmond <br />Vice President - <br />Technical Services <br />M V' <br />In response to the "FINDINGS" Section of Mr. Azevedo's as referenced, <br />I would like to present the following technical work plan and time <br />schedule: <br />Item 1 - Partially Full Drums of Muriatic Acid in the Pond <br />This item had already been responded by Holly Sugar Corporation's <br />letter of March 17, 1986, to California Regional Water Quality <br />Control Board, Sacramento, California. <br />Item 2 - Calcium Oxide. Waste <br />At the end of campaign, the remaining portion of the kiln's contents <br />with pH of approximately 12.0 will be stored and reused for the <br />subsequent campaign. The storage pit will consist of a 6 -ft. deep <br />concrete structure measuring 16'-0" x 12'-0" with a 12 -ft sloping <br />bottom for loader access. The pit will also be provided with a sump <br />approximately 3 ft x 3 ft x 2 ft deep. The partially burnt limerock <br />approximately 50 tons will be covered with a tarpaulin in order to <br />keep the rain out. The sump will be piped to the waste water pond. <br />Engineering is scheduled to be completed in a month. <br />Item 3 - BackQround Soil Test <br />The testing results indicating less than 0.01 mg/l concentration <br />in each of the samples are below the detection limit. These results <br />had already been reported to California Regional Water Quality Control <br />Board by Holly Sugar Corporation's letter of May 6, 1986. <br />
