Person -in -charge <br />♦ Document the details surrounding and exposure to blood or <br />other potentially infectious materials. (See the recordkeeping <br />section that follows.) <br />♦ Identify the source individual: <br />If an employee: attempt to obtain consent to have the doctor <br />test the individual's blood for HN or HBV infectivity. <br />If a customer: Risk Management will attempt to obtain consent <br />to have their doctor test the individual's blood for HIV or HBV <br />infectivity. <br />♦ Provide the exposed employee with source individual's results <br />and information about disclosure laws regarding source <br />identity and infectious status. <br />♦ Arrange for post -exposure counseling and infection control <br />through the treating clinic. <br />Recordkeeping <br />The Store Director/Store Manager or Distribution Center Human <br />Resources Manager will maintain records relevant to this standard <br />for training and exposure incident investigations. <br />Training: <br />♦ This training is included as part of the Toys "R" Us, Inc. Hazard <br />Communication Program, which is conducted as part of new <br />hire orientation. <br />♦ Current employees will receive this training as part of a <br />regularly scheduled employee meeting. <br />♦ All employees will be re-trained annually. <br />♦ A master list of dates of all training sessions will be maintained. <br />♦ Contents/summary of the training sessions will be recapped on <br />review sheets, then signed and dated by attending employees. <br />These sheets will be maintained in each employee's personnel <br />file. <br />♦ Training will consist of: <br />1. a session, led by a trained member of management, to <br />discuss the potential health risks; <br />2. an employee manual, discussed during the session, that <br />provides information on prevention and proper cleanup <br />methods; and <br />3.. a video demonstration of proper cleanup methods. <br />Toys "R" Us, Inc. <br />HAZARD COMMUNICATION PROGRAM BLOODBORNE PATHOGENS O <br />9/1/95 <br />
