SITE CODE: 1090
640 N. EI Dorado Street
Stockton CA 95202
San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD)
has reviewed the Additional Subsurface Investigation Summary Report dated April 4,
2000 that was submitted by Ground Zero Analysis, Inc. (Ground Zero) on behalf of the
above referenced site and has the following comments.
The report documents the completion of the initial soil and groundwater investigation at
this site. Results of the investigation indicate that significant petroleum hydrocarbon
contamination has impacted both soil and groundwater in the vicinity of a former waste
oil tank on site. Soil contamination appears to be limited to 31-feet below surface grade
(bsg) vertically, and to less than 30-feet laterally to the north, east and south. Soil
contamination has not been defined to the west of the source area. The groundwater
plume has not been completely defined laterally or vertically.
The report recommends the installation of four groundwater-monitoring wells on site.
PHS/EHD concurs with this recommendation. Please prepare a work plan to proceed
with this next phase of work and submit it to PHS/EHD by June 2, 2000. Please note
that the San Joaquin County Well Standards must be adhered to when constructing
wells in this county. If you have any questions call Lori Duncan at (209)468-0337.
Donna Heran, RENS, Director
Environmental Health Division
Lm 1n G( 1
Lori Duncan, Senior REHS MargarLagon&S
LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV Supervisor, Unit IV
cc: Marty Hartzell, CVRWQCB
John Lane, Ground Zero
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
