To date I have not received the revised Fact Sheet;
however, I did receive a phone call from the public on 12 September 2008 with a question
whether the wells abandonment would affect their public water supply. I reassured the caller
that the wells would be abandoned properly according to San Joaquin County requirements
and that the wells abandonment would not affect the public water supply. Since the individual
calling stated that they represented several parties in the neighborhood and had discussed the
proposed closure with them, am I correct that the public participation mail -outs occurred during
the first week of September? If so, then the 45 -day review period is nearly over. Please'send
the revised Fact Sheet with the date mailed to the public, and a list of all comments
received by you with your responses from public participation. If you received no
comments to public participation, then you may proceed towards closure by submitting a well
abandonment workplan as soon as possible for my review and approval. Upon my approval of
the workplan, acquire San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD) well
abandonment permits and notify SJCEHD and my self at least three days prior to fieldwork.
