Description of Employee Training
AT&T Environmental, Health, and Safety (AT&T-EHS) is dedicated to ensuring safe, healthy, and
environmentally friendly work environment. The ATT-EHS website provides employees a resource of work-
related environmental, health, and safety information, policies, job aids, training, and general information.
The supervising manager is responsible for ensuring direct reporting employees satisfactorily complete the
training necessary to perform their assigned job duties in a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible
manner; and as required by federal, state and local regulation. Employees at all levels are responsible for
actively participating in required training as scheduled, for learning the appropriate procedures and their
application, and for seeking additional information if the covered material is not understood.
The training program includes internal job aids and practices to ensure training development, certification,
tracking, and record keeping are appropriately managed.
AT&T web -based training courses are available on Learning Solutions (LSO), Learning Management Center
(LMC), or Learning Edge systems. The learning systems are available to all AT&T Employee's during normal
operating hours. The Learning Solutions (LSO) is AT&T Mobility's main learning management system for
related training requirements AT&T employees can view the catalog of available training opportunities, enroll in
instructor -led courses, take online courses, and view and update their transcripts. Most courses are online
self-directed courses and interactive courses that can be completed anytime. Employees are able to access
these systems using their internal User ID and password and appropriately review and complete the training
course(s). Upon the employee completing a course, the learning system will automatically date stamp the
completion of the course for record-keeping purposes and future retrieval. Records are kept on-line.
Training for various types of work activity are specified on training matrices found on the AT&T-EH&S web
page. Each training matrix represents a different type of work activity, and specifies the training required for
exposures the employee may encounter while performing work.
Established training matrices list courses required for employees depending on their job function. If an
employee has multiple job responsibilities, he/she may be required to take training from more than one matrix.
Example training matrices fall under administrative & office, construction & operations, supply logistics &
warehouse, and vehicle maintenance & repair work. Each training matrix has multiple tabs and lists required
courses, training frequency (i.e. initial, annual, every 3 -years, etc.), permissible equivalent training methods,
and other specifics for course completion.
Typical training courses required for AT&T Mobility Network Operations field technicians conducting work at
AT&T Mobility cellular sites include: Hazard Recognition AND Communication (i.e. for all employees who may
be exposed to hazardous chemicals, MSDS, etc.), Electrical hazards, Small Chemical Spill Clean-up,
Emergency Preparedness, Fire Extinguisher Safety, Lifting, Lock -Out -Out -Tag Out, Personal Protective
