• 5.4 Trailer Connection 17
' The power supply to the trailer will be provided by a 25 KV -A
generator connected to the control panel in the trailer.
The vent and sparge wells will be connected to the trailer
header piping with 2 -inch and 1.5 -inch flexible hose respectively.
5.5 Equipment Startup
After connection of the trailer to the power supply and the
' test wells, start-up of the system should follow the steps
described below. Only venting unit B-1 and sparging unit B-3 will
' be used for the pilot test.
1. open the atmosphere valves on venting and sparging units B-1
and B-3 to full open and close the in-line valves on venting
and sparging units B-2 and B-4.
2. Adjust the valves to vent and sparge wells to full open.
3. Energize the power supply to the control panel in the
equipment trailer.
4. Switch the Hand -Off -Auto (HOA) controls to automatic for
blowers B-1 and B-3 and to off for B-2 and B-4.
Y
5.
Press the system start button. Delay timers in the control
panel will start Blower B-1 then Blower B-3.
6. Slowly close the atmosphere valves on the vent and sparge
blowers until fully closed.
' 7. Adjust the valves to the vent and sparge wells to obtain the
desired flow rate to/from each of the wells as indicated by
the flow meters.
If the flow meter on the exhaust stack of Blower B-1 begins to
bounce, slowly close the exhaust stack valve until the readings
stabilize. Slowly open the exhaust stack valve until the maximum
flow is obtained and while keeping the flow meter reading stable.
07/94/12082112599WREM REM July 1, 1994 9 26am
