Revised
LFR Levine Fricke
• Collect air flow, re volume flushing.ushing, and pressure data adequate to identify
extraction well spacing requirements for the design of the full-scale SVETS to
address elevated VOC conceuitratioits in unsaturated Zone soil at the Site The
primary factors for well spacing design include
• extraction flow rates
pressure distnbution around wells at different extraction flow rates
(generally referred to as "radius of influence" or "area of influence:")
• average air permeability of sods
• average soil porosity
air velocities and pore gas velocities to estimate pore volume flushing
Collect concentration data in extracted soil vapor to estimate the VOC mass
removal rates that will dictate VOC rnass loading rates for sizing of the emission
control systems and estimating total system operation tune frames The prunary
factors for estima=g VOC mass removal rates include
+ distribution of VOCs in soil vapor
• extent of area to be influenced
• vapor flow rates
• VOC concentrations in extracted vapor
5.1 Well Installation
To achieve the goals stated above, LFR proposes to install nine pilot test wells, as
follows-
Three Uly screened (from approxImately 10 to 35 ft bgs and from 50 to 75 tt bgs)
dual purpose vapor extraction and groundwater sparguig/monitonng wells will he
installed as follows.
In the fey near existing groundwater monitoring well MW-09 Fully Screened
ExUaction Well 1 (FSEW-1) will be installed approximately 20 ft across the
alley from MW-09 and 100 ft from the northwestern cnmer of the Guild
Cleaners 31 S. Church Street parking lot
• In the Guild parking lot, 75 ft south of the western corner of Guild Cleaners,
31 S. Church Street (FSEW-2)
• In the northeastern corner of the Guild Cleaners 31 S_ Church Street parking lot
(FSEW-3)
Two well clusters (consisting of Partially Screened Extraction Wells/Groundwater
Spargtng wells/Groundwater Monitoring wells PSEW-4, 5, and 6, and PSEW-7, 8,
and 9).
