3.27.4 Roles/Responsibilities <br />3.27.4.1 Health and Safety Staff <br />• As necessary or required, evaluate site activities and hazards relevant to this <br />Section. <br />• Provide technical guidance, feedback and support. <br />• Approve any unusual work, or work that requires a variance from any of the policies <br />or procedures set forth in this Section. <br />• Provide training to employees who may be exposed to drowning hazards. <br />3.27.4.2 Operations and Project Management <br />• Evaluate the hazards of proposed activities as they relate to this policy. <br />• Coordinate and consult, as necessary, with Health and Safety Management to <br />ensure proper reduction or elimination of hazards. <br />• Establish mitigative/protective procedures to ensure compliance with this Policy. <br />• Communicate the details of established procedures and policy to all personnel <br />exposed to water hazards. <br />• Ensure appropriate planning and scheduling to ensure personnel working over, <br />near, or in water are not conducting activities alone. <br />3.27.4.3 Field Personnel <br />• Implement all applicable procedures as established in this Section. <br />• Inspect all equipment daily and report any damage or deficiencies to the <br />appropriate management personnel. <br />• Identify potential hazards and mitigative practices when work plans or procedures <br />are not specifically addressed prior to performing tasks and/or as conditions <br />change. <br />• Where the risk of drowning exists, personnel shall not work unattended. <br />3.27.4.4 Contractors <br />• Provide, inspect and maintain all applicable safety devices, equipment and <br />documentation. <br />• Conduct independent hazard assessments, and establish safe work practices and <br />procedures consistent with this Section. <br />227 Revised June 15, 2018 <br />Copyright 2018 Kleinfelder <br />
