Mr. Kenney stated he doesn't use much acid, he used only <br /> 214 gallons of acid from January 1989 - July 1990. <br /> On August 2 , 1990 <br /> Mr. Kenney returned my phone call. I asked him to give me his <br /> correct address which is: Gary Kenney, Water Tech. , 6333 Pacific <br /> Ave. , Suite 285, Stockton, CA. , 95207 . I also inquired if he had <br /> notified anyone at Earth Grains when the acid spill occurred. Mr. <br /> Kenney stated he did not notify Earth Grains. <br /> On August 3, 1990, <br /> I phoned Chuck Hufstetler, Vice President of Earth Grains and asked <br /> for a description of Gary Kenney. Mr. Hufstetler stated Mr. Kenny <br /> was approximately 40 years of age and white. I then inquired as to <br /> the amount of sodium bicarbonate used to neutralize the acid spill. <br /> Mr Hufstetler stated they used approximately 150 pounds of <br /> bicarbonate of soda to neutralize the acid spill. <br /> August 3 , 1990 <br /> I phoned Sam Martinez at Earth Grains, and inquired if he had any <br /> information about Mr. Kenney. Mr Martinez stated he had a card <br /> from Mr. Kenney. His full name is Gary R. Kenney, 6333 Pacific <br /> Ave. , Suite 285, Stockton, California 95207 . He is white and <br /> approximately 40-50 years old. <br /> August 16, 1990 <br /> I referred this complaint to the Department of Health Services - <br /> Toxic Substance Control Program, and Fish and Game. <br /> August 16, 1990 <br /> I phoned Midway Supply (209) (465-1135) to ascertain how much acid <br /> was received for neutralization from Mr. Kenney. The answering <br /> machine stated "you have reached Midway Supply and Water Tech. " I <br /> left a message for them to call me back. <br /> August 17 , 1990 <br /> I received a phone call from Bill Lee, Midway Supply, who stated <br /> when he receives waste he takes 110 gallons of used acid for <br /> neutralization in (2) 55 gallon drums and dilutes it with water in <br /> a tank to bring it to a total of 200 gallons and adjusts pH to 6.0 <br /> using soda ash. <br />
