1 7 . We walked the length of the ditch to determine the <br /> 2 distance the oily waste was distributed. There was some <br /> 3 evidence of contamination in the weeds almost to the end of the <br /> 4 ditch. The ditch was approximately 250 yards from beginning to <br /> 5 end, running east from Charter Way. The ditch ends at another <br /> 6 drainage ditch which goes to Duck Creek. <br /> 7 S . I informed Mr. Hufstetler that I would be filing a <br /> 6 Proposition 65 notification of the oily spill in the ditch. <br /> 9 After inspection of the ditch was completed, Mr. Fields, Mr. <br /> 10 Hufstetler and I passed through the gate which was then locked <br /> 11 by an Earth Grains employee. <br /> 12 9 . Mr. Hufstetler escorted Mr. Fields and I to the back <br /> 13 of the Earthgrain bakery plant to view the acid spill. The <br /> t4 spill was a long puddle approximately 45 feet by 2 feet, which <br /> 15 began at a piece of bread making equipment. A contractor had <br /> 16 been hired to clean the equipment and a spill ended up on the <br /> 17 black top. <br /> 18 10. Returning to the issue of the contaminated ditch, I <br /> 19 inquired of Sam Martinez where the storm drains located on the <br /> 20 Rainbow/Earthgrain facility would carry the runoff water. I <br /> 21 specifically wanted to know if the washdown from the acid spill <br /> 22 would drain into the contaminated ditch. Mr. Martinez informed <br /> 23 me the waste water would go inside the building to the north <br /> 24 into a grease trap. He stated the grease trap was pumped out <br /> 25 regularly. <br /> 26 11. I then accompanied Mr. Hufstetler to his office and <br /> 27 asked for the parent company address and inquired who should be <br /> 26 the contact person for the Proposition 65 notification.
