The assessment shall determine that the tank system is <br /> adequately designed and has sufficient structural strength and compatibility with <br /> the waste stored, and shall be written in accordance with title 22 regulations. <br /> Immediately obtain written tank assessments for the hazardous waste tanks and <br /> containment at this facility in accordance with Title 22 regulations, maintain a <br /> copy on site at the facility, and submit a copy of each certified assessment to the <br /> EHD. <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION <br /> The area of the Alodine tanks is being redesigned and the area under the rinse <br /> tanks in Building 3 will be reviewed by an independent, qualified, California <br /> registered professional engineer. Once the area has been redesigned and once <br /> we have completed requirements to satisfactorily meet the certified tank <br /> assessments and receive the written reports, we will forward them to EHD. <br /> 301. Metal fines were observed at the welding shop on the floor, around the doors, <br /> and outside the doors. Rusting was observed on the ground outside the welding <br /> shop doors. Facilities shall be maintained and operated to minimize the possibility <br /> of a fire, explosion, or release of hazardous waste to air, soil, or surface water <br /> which could threaten human health or the environment. Immediately collect all <br /> metal fines, and manage according to Title 22 hazardous waste regulations, and <br /> take all necessary precautions to ensure no future releases to the environment. <br /> Submit a statement and supporting documentation explaining how this waste was <br /> managed by July 2, 2014 <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION <br /> Maintenance employees have been instructed to use the designated metal fines <br /> vacuum in and around the welding area and empty the contents into the 5 <br /> gallon hazardous waste metal fines container (located in the welding area) on <br /> a daily basis. A daily log sheet has been created requiring employee signoff to <br /> ensure that it is being done. The grinder located next to the welding area door <br /> to the outside will be relocated. <br /> 305. The eyewash in Building 1 stated that it must be checked daily, tested and <br /> refilled weekly, and cleansed monthly. The eyewash stations in the old 268 room <br /> and the paint booth stated they must be tested weekly. The eyewashes throughout <br /> the facility are all tested monthly. The eyewash station in Building IA was <br /> blocked by an electric fan. All facility communications and alarm systems, fire <br />
