DRAFT 1219 . 4203
Drainage from the building, unloading, packaging, and tank
farm areas flows through drains to underground sewers
connecting to four earthen ponds equipped with double
synthetic liners and an approximate capacity of 160, 000
gallons.
The pond water system operates in a closed cycle with no
discharge. The pond water is maintained at a neutral pH by
the addition of caustic or acid then is recycled through a
sand filter back to the process. The State Water Quality
Control Board makes periodic inspections and samples the
ponds. There is no indication of any problems with the
operation.
SCOPE OF WORK
Provide all equipment, accessories, personnel, labor and
materials to perform the tasks described below:
1. Drill four hollow-stem auger borings to
first encountered groundwater and collect
soil samples at the surface and at
five-foot intervals thereafter until
groundwater is encountered.
-7-
