Based upon the findings specified in this Order, the <br /> 4 Department hereby determines pursuant to Health and Safety Code <br /> 5 Sections 25355 . 5 (b) (3) and 25358 . 3 (a) (1) that there may be an <br /> 6 imminent and substantial endangerment to the public health or ! <br /> 7 welfare or to the environment because of the releases and/or <br /> 8 threatened releases and remedial action is necessary. <br /> 9 III. ORDER <br /> 10 Based on the foregoing FINDINGS AND DETERMINATIONS, IT ISI <br /> i <br /> 11 HEREBY ORDERED AND AGREED THAT PG&E shall conduct the following <br /> 12 response activities for the Site in the manner specified herein and <br /> 13 in accordance with a schedule agreed to by the Department and PG&E <br /> 14 as follows (Reference may be made to a consolidated Calendar of <br /> 15 Tasks and Schedules appearing in Paragraph 3 .20 below) : <br /> 16 3 . 0 Interim Remedial Measures. Gas plant residues have been <br /> 17 observed on the soil surface at the southern portion of Area I. <br /> 18Within45 days PG&E shall submit a workplan to eliminate potential <br /> 19 direct human exposure to residues on the Site. <br /> 20 3 . 1. Supplemental Remedial Investigation and Feasibility Study <br /> 21 (RI/FS) . <br /> 22 3 . 1. 1. RI/FS Workplan Submission. PG&E voluntarily submitted <br /> 23 : the documents itemized in section 2 . 2 of this Order which regard thel <br /> I <br /> 241 <br /> 1Remedial Investigation activities completed by PG&E. The Department <br /> 25andPG&E agree that further RI/FS activities are needed to define <br /> 261the extent of hazardous substances found at the Site in soil and <br /> i <br /> 27 ground water.
