2 Training Content <br /> A training matrix that summarizes the environmental training topics required for each job title is <br /> provided in Appendix 1. Descriptions of company job titles are maintained within the company <br /> electronic database known as the Cornerstone program and can be made available upon request. <br /> In addition, job descriptions for the job titles listed in the matrix are provided in Appendix 2. <br /> Descriptions of the training topics reviewed by employees are provided below. The frequency of <br /> training is clarified in Section 3. <br /> 2.1 Training Topics <br /> Training topics that are reviewed with personnel pertaining to the handling, storing and <br /> management of hazardous materials and hazardous wastes consist of: <br /> • Hazard Communication&Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System <br /> (WHIMIS) Work Instructions <br /> • Spill Prevention, Control, and Response <br /> • Evacuation Procedures <br /> • Personal Protective Equipment <br /> • Hazardous Material and Waste Management <br /> • Stormwater Pollution Prevention <br /> 2.1.1 Hazard Communications &WHIMIS Work Instructions <br /> Hazard communications (HazCom) and WHIMIS Work Instruction training provides employees <br /> with information concerning the hazardous materials and/or wastes they may encounter at the <br /> Facility. Chemical and waste hazard classifications,hazard communication information(e.g. label <br /> identification), potential chemical hazards, where hazard information can be found, and how to <br /> obtain safety data sheets (WHIMIS) are reviewed as part of this topic. <br /> Hazard Communications training also reviews the definitions of a waste, how to determine what <br /> types of a wastes and its hazardous properties, and how to properly segregate and store hazardous <br /> materials and wastes onsite. This is provided through computer-based training completed and <br /> documented via Pick-n-Pull's Cornerstone program, which is assigned to both Production and <br /> Sales staff. More in-depth and site-specific training regarding proper waste handling, waste <br /> identification, waste storage, waste container labeling, and disposal requirements is provided <br /> verbally by on-the-job training for Production Staff who are directly involved in the handling and <br /> management of hazardous wastes and materials. Additional training is also provided during <br /> tailgate meetings. <br /> 2.1.2 Spill Prevention, Control, and Response <br /> Spill prevention,control and response procedures are reviewed under this training topic. Personnel <br /> review the proper methods and procedures that prevent spills and leaks from occurring, proper <br /> handling procedures, visual inspection requirements, and storage requirements for hazardous <br /> Page 2-1 <br />
