AM Document Number: 909 R 5003 PILKINGTON Procedure Rev: 5 Date: 5/24/07 EMERGENCY RESPONSE PROCEDURES The Plant Manager serves as the executive officer and communicates pertinent information to corporate management. The Environmental Manager reports directly to the Plant Manager and is responsible for the health and safety of all employees. The ENVIRONMENTAL Manager serves as a member of the facility's incident command team. Responsibilities include management of the facility compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations which includes the management of hazardous materials and waste. The ENVIRONMENTAL Manager also serves as the facility's hazardous material incident commander. If necessary, the ENVIRONMENTAL Manager may request assistance from the Office of Environmental Affairs located at the corporate headquarters in Toledo, Ohio. The Area Managers report directly to the Plant Manager and have direct responsibility for production, engineering projects and facility maintenance. The Area Managers shall provide technical assistance and coordinate use of materials/equipment necessary for response, as well as trained personnel to assist with incident control. The lead Security Officer is responsible for overall plant security and reports to the Human Resource Manager. In addition, the security officer is responsible for the general movement of traffic and for notifying the fire department, police, and paramedics that assistance is needed. The Human Resource Manager reports to the Plant Manager and is responsible for issues related to personnel. Other personnel may be added to the team as the situation warrants. Manufacturing Operations To facilitate an understanding of the various manufacturing operations, a description of the main operating departments follows, along with pertinent information regarding the use and storage of hazardous materials. 909RS003 Rev. 5/20/04
