Cutting oil is used in this process - one 55 gallon drum and a 220 gallon tote are
located in this area.
Glass Packing
Uncased sizes of architectural glass (stoce) are placed on large "A" frames by using
hydraulic lifters. The "A" frames are then moved to the glass storage areas. The large
panels of glass are stored on edge, at a slight lean angle, against a steel support
structure. When called for to be shipped, the stoce is lifted by crane and loaded directly
onto a shipping truck.
Several methods are used for handling the glass into a shipping package. Glass is
vacuum frame packed into the horizontal case. The case is then closed, nailed and
strapped, and lifted to vertical using an overhead crane. The case is then placed into
storage.
AUTOMOTIVE
All Automotive parts manufacturing process activities, with the exception of After
Process Hardware Attachment, were eliminated in December 31, 2001 .
After Process Hardware Attachment
Some automotive parts are required to have additional pieces attached to the glass.
The pieces are usually the connection points between the glass and the car, either
mechanical or electrical. A satellite collection point is located in the hardware area for
the collection of solvent based waste, generated as a result of the clip attachment
process.
909R5003 Rev. 5/20/04
