4.0 SITE HISTORY
4.1 Oral and Written History
A review of the San Joaquin County Assessor's files indicate that the site has always
been vacant of buildings and other facilities. The property is presently owned by Santa Fe
Pacific Properties,Inc. The site has been used to some extent for the disposal of construction
debris, consisting of dirt, rock and concrete waste. The debris has been uniformly distributed,
and with the exception of three locations of newly deposited materials, would appear to have
been in place for a number of years. See Plate 4.
4.2 Aerial Photographic Record
Aerial photographs of the site taken in 1963, 1973 and 1984 were examined. Historical
and current land uses of the site and adjacent areas were reviewed. The 1963 photograph does
not indicate any activity on the site. The 1973 photograph indicates the spur track had been
constructed, and the I-5 interchange has been completed to the east of the site. There was
indicators that construction debris was being brought onto the site. Construction activities
were also noted to the south of the site along Navy Drive. In the 1984 photograph,
construction was observed to the west of the site. Indications are that construction debris was
still being brought onto the site. See Plates 5, 6, and 7.
4
