OPERATIO�NAND MAINTENANCE MANUALS �Crirbon <br />SENTINEL* UV DISINFECTION SYSTEM f g <br />on <br />Hot Surfaces <br />Certain areas of the reactor may contain hot surfaces. <br />General Warning <br />Various other warnings and precautions are outlined throughout the <br />manual. <br />UV Face Protection <br />Certain operations will require the use of appropriate face <br />protection to prevent exposure to UV radiation. <br />Gloves <br />Gloves may be required for certain operations to prevent damage to <br />equipment and to protect the skin from ultraviolet radiation. <br />Mercury Cleanup Procedure <br />Follow your onsite Emergency Response Plan to clean up a mercury spill. The following is to be <br />used as a general guideline if no onsite plan exists. Personnel involved in the cleanup procedure <br />should take all necessary precautions as per occupational health and safety regulations. Wear <br />appropriate protective clothing and equipment at all times and dispose of all contaminated <br />materials accordingly. Mercury spill kits are available from major chemical supply houses or <br />from Calgon Carbon Corporation (P/N 450385). <br />The following procedure refers to MERCON, a mercury <br />vapor suppressant, throughout. Personnel should work <br />these instructions with those provided with the spill kit <br />available at the time of clean up. <br />If pregnant, do not attempt to clean up mercury spills. <br />Leave the area immediately.
