sicoso Hazardous Materials & Waste Contingency Plan <br /> raiser Permanente Stockton Medical Offices <br /> 1/01/17-12/31/17 <br /> Atli emergency coordinator's assessment indicates that evacuation of local areas <br /> may be advisable. the Emergence Coordinator shall immediately notify <br /> appropriate local authorities. The emergency coordinator shall be available to <br /> help appropriate officials decide whether local areas should be evacuated. The <br /> evacuation should take place to the department's designatcd assembly area (see <br /> each departmental plan) unless advised otherwise. <br /> The emergency coordinator shall in every situation immediately notify the State <br /> Office of Emergency Services (OES) / California Emergency Management Agency <br /> (('aIEMA) and San Joaquin County {SES or Stanislaus County Environmental <br /> Resources. <br /> The report shall include: <br /> • Name and telephone number of reporter. <br /> • Name and address of facility. <br /> • Time and date of incident (e.g., release, fire). <br /> + Name and quantity of materials) involved, to the extent known. <br /> + The extent of injuries, ifany. <br /> • The possible hazards to human health, or the environment, outside the facility. <br /> During an emergency, the emergency coordinator shall take all reasonable measure <br /> necessary to ensure that fires, explosion. and releases do not occur, recur, or spread to <br /> other hazardous waste at the Facility. These measures shall include, where applicable, <br /> stopping processes and operation, collection and containing released waste. and <br /> removing or isolating containers. <br /> if the facility stops operations in response to a fire, explosion or release, the <br /> emergency coordinator shall monitor (for leaks, pressure buildup, gas generation, or <br /> ruptures in valves, pipes, or other equipment, wherever this is appropriate. <br /> Immediately after an emergency, the emergency coordinator shall provide for <br /> treating, storing or disposing of recovered waste, contaminated soil or surface water, <br /> or any other material that results from a release, fire or explosion at the facility. If the <br /> recovered material is hazardous, it shall be handled according to all policy and <br /> procedures for hazardous material. <br /> The emergency coordinator shall ensure that in the affected area(s) of the facility: <br /> • No waste that may be incompatible with the release material is transferred, <br /> heated, stored, or disposed of until cleanup procedures are completed; and all <br /> emergency equipment is cleaned and tit for its intended use before operation are <br /> resumed. <br /> The administrator (or designee) shall notify the Department of Health Services, and <br /> appropriate State and local authorities, which facility is in compliance with the above <br /> noted section before operations sire resumed in the affected area(s) of the facility. <br />
