9. The Manteca site plan sheet T-3 illustrates an existing 48" double wall polysided fiberglass
containment sump. Item hexagon 33 lists a conduit entry fitting for round sumps. Correct the
discrepancies. Submit corrected version.
Response: The actual point-of-entry for the product line will occur at the round part of the
existing sump. Only the bottom 24-inches of the existing sumps are flat sided (polysided).
The upper portion of the sump is round. See Elevation View D for point-of-entry of the
product line.
10. The site plan sheet T-5 hexagon item 24 describes a magnetostrictive probe 0.1 GPH w/o
water detection model number VR 846391-601 but the manufacturer's cut sheet provided
states 0.1 GPH leak detection model number as VR 846391-401 and probe for inventory only
as VR 846391-601. Correct the discrepancies. Submit corrected version.
Response: The description for Item 24 on Sheet T-5 has been revised to identify the
probe as inventory only.
11. Provide the following current install/manufacturer training certification: ICC install/retrofit, ICC
service tech, Containment Solution tank and sump, FE Petro leak detector, Veeder-root
Certification Technician, Bravo DoubleWall, Bravo Retrofit, Bravo F-Series, OPW spill
container, Flexing-Flex connectors, and Ameron Dualoy.
Response: Current install/manufacturer certifications have been included in this
resubmittal. The installer completed the training class on December 20, 2012, but he has not
received his certification document from Blue Line. We will forward the certification as soon
as it is provided.
COMMENTS PROVIDED BY: GARRETT BACKUS,SENIOR REHS I TELEPHONE: (209)468-2986
1616 EAST HAMMER LANE,STOCKTON,CALIFORNIA 95210
COSTco Loc. No.381 OUR JOB No. 10199
1. The overfill prevention method for the Lubrizol tank must be in compliance with Title 23
California Code of Regulations section 2635(b)(2). Only one of the methods listed in this
section is required. The method listed in the monitoring plan issued to satisfy the regulation.
Other methods can be also be used in addition.
One method is "external audio/visual alarm set at 90% of tank capacity" which was initially
written in the Lubrizol tank monitoring plan. This statement can be returned to the comments
section of the Lubrizol monitoring plan and the external audio/visual alarm will be tested
during the install. Also add this method to page 7 of the install permit application.
A second method is "Provide positive shut-off of flow to the tank when the tank is filled to no
more than 95 percent of capacity"which cannot be used with an DPW 61fSTOP since a light
shutoff is not achieved in the closed position,"according to the OPW cut sheet.
A third method is "Restrict delivery of flow to the tank at least 30 minutes before the tank
overfills, provided the restriction occurs when the tank is filled to no more than 95 percent of
capacity, and activate an audible alarm at least five minutes before the tank overfills."
If the third method will be listed in the monitoring plan to satisfy the 2635(b)(2) regulation then
provide the following to use the third method. tank chart for the Lubrizol tank to determine
the property OPW 61fSTOP length for 95% shutoff, OPS 61fSTOP instructions to set the
valve at 95% tank capacity, and assurance that the Lubrizol delivery into the tank will be
maintained at 25 gallons per minute as per the OPW 61 fSTOP specification. Also include the
following statement in the monitoring plan comments: "Overflow prevention is achieved by
12919c.039.dm
