ACTION LEVELS: <br /> Action Levels : <br /> Action levels shall be established for the situations listed below, at a <br /> minimum. <br /> General : <br /> a. Implementation of engineering controls and work practices <br /> b. Upgrade or downgrade in level of personal protective equipment <br /> c. Work stoppage and/or emergency evacuation of onsite personnel <br /> d. Prevention and/or minimization of public exposures to hazards created <br /> by site activities <br /> Site Specific Response to Action Levels : <br /> The following is in response to the requirements set forth in a through <br /> d above: <br /> 1 . The implementation of engineering controls and work practices shall <br /> be in conformance with applicable regulations and requirements and <br /> established by the SSM and Contractor. These controls and work practices <br /> shall be designed with the utmost regard for the specific work <br /> environment and in consideration of current Industrial Hygiene <br /> practices. <br /> The description of engineering controls and work practices/personal <br /> protective equipment (PPE) is set in this SSHP. <br /> Engineering controls, work practices and personal protective equipment <br /> will be evaluated daily. The following criteria shall be considered <br /> during this daily assessment: <br /> a. air monitoring results <br /> b. potential for exposure <br /> c. changes in site conditions <br /> d. work phases and job tasks <br /> e. weather and temperature extremes <br /> f. individual medical considerations <br /> Site Safety 6 Health Plan Rev./1.0 29 <br /> October 20, 1997 <br />
