Evacuation <br /> • Exceeding the STEL at any time <br /> • Any apparent acute contaminant-related illness . <br /> • Any emergency requiring evacuation. <br /> • At the CIH discretion. <br /> 4 .Prevention and/or minimization of public exposures to hazards created <br /> by site activities. <br /> Due to the nature of the project, very little risk if any <br /> exists to the general public. There are no highly toxic <br /> substances in concentrations that should pose any significant <br /> risk to the community via airborne routes . <br /> To prevent the public from exposure, access is restricted to authorized <br /> personnel at all times . <br /> Minimization of public risk shall be through the careful packaging, <br /> handling, transport and disposal of all wastes. The SHM shall inspect <br /> all conditions to eliminate significant risk potential . <br /> Waste shall be stored in sealed containers to prevent exposure to site- <br /> produced waste products. Disposal from the site shall be by certified <br /> waste hailers under controlled conditions . Transport shall occur <br /> regularly as containers are filled to reduce the amount of waste on site <br /> at any given time. <br /> Specific Personnel Responsibilities : <br /> Site Superintendent: <br /> A Site Superintendent, who has responsibility to implement the SSHP, the <br /> authority to direct work performed under this contract and verify <br /> compliance, shall be designated. <br /> The project Superintendent for R.B. Construction, shall enforce the <br /> safety and health requirements of the project. He shall participate in <br /> safety conferences, hazard analysis, tool box meetings, daily walk- <br /> through inspections, corrections of violations, etc. , including that of <br /> the subcontractors work. <br /> The Project/Site Superintendent shall have ultimate responsibility for <br /> enforcing the requirements and procedures in the SSHP and correcting <br /> violations or notifying the Certified Industrial Hygienist (SSM) of <br /> unresolved deficiencies. The Project Superintendent shall notify the CIH <br /> in all deficiency cases involving requirements, procedures, and <br /> violations if corrected or not. <br /> The Project/Site Superintendent shall be responsible for verifying <br /> employee medical status, respirator fit-test, OSHA training and job <br /> orientation. <br /> 31 <br /> Site Safety i Health Plan Rev./1.0 <br /> October 20, 1997 <br />
