CONTAINMENT EQUIPMENT <br /> Dispenser spill containment devices [box(es)] are located beneath each dispenser to contain any leaks <br /> from components and fittings inside the dispenser cabinet. A mechanical sensor is located in the box. <br /> When the sensor detects the presence of a liquid, it will activate the impact valve and shut the dispenser <br /> down. <br /> 2. MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE OF MONITORING AND CONTAINMENT EQUIPMENT <br /> The continuous electronic leak detection system including line leak detectors will be inspected according <br /> to the manufacturer's instructions by an outside contractor once during each calendar year. <br /> The containment devices will be inspected according to the manufacturer's instructions by an outside <br /> contractor once during each calendar year. <br /> 3. ROUTINE MONITORING PROCEDURE <br /> On a daily basis the facility operator shall: <br /> A. Inspect the control panel for visual and audible alarm signals to confirm that the unit is operating. <br /> B. Inspect island and tank fill areas for signs of spillage or petroleum sheen. <br /> C. Record the inspection observations on the Daily Visual Monitoring Log(Form APCC-765:attached). <br /> On a weekly basis the facility operator shall: <br /> A. Inspect each containment box for the presence of a liquid. <br /> B. Remove debris from the containment box. <br /> If any liquid is found, manually close the impact valve, place the dispenser "out of service"; and call <br /> ARCO Maintenance immediately. <br /> 4. RESPONSE PLAN <br /> OPERATOR RESPONSIBILITIES <br /> A. LEAK RECORDING AND REPORTING PROCEDURE <br /> Whenever an alarm is activated, station personnel are to immediately: <br /> a. Contact ARCO Maintenance or its designated agent by using the telephone number previously <br /> provided. <br /> b. If any visible indications of petroleum products or vapors are noticed call 911. <br /> c. Make an entry in the Recordable Discharge Log (Form APPC-765-1: attached) <br /> 7063.001 [SHK/jss] <br />
