How to use and interpret the labels on containers of <br /> hazardous materials. <br /> 4 . Potential hazards and health effects of the hazardous <br /> materials and how to use MSDS sheets for more information. <br /> 5. Methods of handling hazardous materials safely and other <br /> protective measures to use. <br /> 6. what to do in an accidental release of, or an exposure to, <br /> a hazardous material. <br /> 7. How the presence of hazardous chemicals can be detected <br /> in the work area. <br /> 8. Their right to refuse to work in any area which they consider <br /> to be unsafe. <br /> 9. Hazards of job-trained to perform excavation work safely. <br /> 10. Confined space hazards recognitions; procedure to take for <br /> employee protection; test for gases and lack of oxygen. <br /> 11 . Their right to report hazards without fear of reprisal in <br /> any form. <br /> All hazardous materials training is documented on signed <br /> safety meeting attendance sheets. Records are maintained by <br /> the Safety Manager. Training on new hazards (either new <br /> chemicals or new information on existing chemicals) will be <br /> provided within thirty days of its arrival on site, or as new <br /> information becomes available. The Company depends on <br /> information contained in MSDS sheets as allowed by the OSHA <br /> Hazard Communication Standard and does not perform independent <br /> hazard determinations. <br /> Furthermore: Job specific training will be given to all <br /> employees in regards to the safe usage of equipment, machinery <br /> and processes. <br /> EMPLOYEE COMPLIANCE <br /> The Company expects employees to work in a safe manner so <br /> as to prevent accidents to themselves, other workers, equipment, <br /> and property. Disciplinary action will be taken for the <br /> violation of a previously posted regulation. The first violation <br /> will result in a documented verbal reprimand. The second and <br /> third violation will result in a written reprimand. The fourth <br /> violation will result in dismissal. These are recommended <br /> disciplinary guidelines and any steps may be superceded, at <br /> any time, depending upon the severity of the violation(s) . <br /> HEALTH AND SAFETY TRAINING <br /> The Safety Manager will conduct safety meetings every ten <br /> days. All Employees are encouraged to participate during the <br /> 5 <br />
