MEMO: Request for Fee Waivers for
Underground Storage Tank Program
The constituent indicated that since he had never used the tank and that they
were not informed of the fee when enacted, they felt it inappropriate to be
back charged for inspectionsthat never took place. The constituent also indi-
cated that he found it unbelievable that it took four years for two divisions
of the same department to compare lists, especially since the two divisions
occupied the same building for most of that four years.
After a lengthy discussion, neither the constituent nor division chief could
come to an agreement and the constituent requested the matter be brought to the
Board of Supervisors. When we failed to receive any follow-up information on
this matter it was then that my office contacted Mr. Smith and requested that
they review current policy and assess the financial implications and potential
liability and report to us their findings.
WNS:ck
c: Mike Smith
Chuck Moody
William Mitchell
Rbn Valinoti
#1100-09.1
