HAND AND POWER TOOLS SAFETY <br /> Unsafe haul tools shall not be issued or used. All hand tools will be kept in good <br /> repair and used only for the purpose for which they were designed. Wrenches with <br /> sprung jaws where slippage could occur, impact tools with awshroaned heads and wooden <br /> handled tools with cracks or splinters are examples of unsafe hand tools. <br /> Tools having defects that will impair their strength or render them unsafe will be <br /> tagged or made inoperable and removed from service. <br /> Guards must be in place during cperatio on all power tools designed to accanodate <br /> them. Guards and safety devices must remain in place on power tools unless removed <br /> according to manufacturers instruction for maintenance by a coupetent person and mist <br /> be replaced before use. Belts, gears, shafts, drams, fly wheels, chains or other <br /> rotating, reciprocating or moving parts exposed to employee contact or representing <br /> other hazard must be guarded. <br /> Proper PPE mist be used when operating power tools or hand tools which may produce <br /> projectiles, outs or abrasions, dusts, fume, mists or light or which pose a risk of <br /> hann to arms, legs, or feet if dzopped. <br /> 3�/3� <br />
