(unleaded gasoline) had been evacuated earlier using a vacuum truck. The tank was triple <br /> rinsed by IT Corporation representatives on March 14, 1995. The rinsate was removed using <br /> a vacuum truck provided by Ramos Environmental Services. The total volume of rinsate was <br /> 200 gallons which was transported by Ramos Environmental, under manifest control <br /> (No. 95377292), to the Ramos Environmental facility in Sacramento, California, for recycling <br /> (Appendix B). <br /> Immediately prior to removal on March 15, 1995, the tank was inerted with approximately <br /> L 150 pounds of dry ice. Atmospheric readings were measured inside the tank under the <br /> direction of Stockton Fire Department inspector. Permission to remove the tank was granted. <br /> ' Upon removal, the tank and piping appeared sound. No petroleum odors or stained soils were <br /> noted beneath the tank. No water was encountered in the tank excavation. No staining or <br /> ' petroleum odors were encountered beneath the piping, which was completely contained within <br /> the tank excavation. <br /> The removed tank was loaded onto a flat-bed truck and transported by Erickson, Inc., to their <br /> facility in Richmond, California, for cleaning and disposal. The tank was transported under <br /> manifest control. Documents pertaining to the transport and disposal of the tank are included <br /> ' as Appendix C. <br /> On March 16, 1995, IT Corporation representatives received authorization for tank <br /> reinstallation in the open excavation from the San Joaquin County Division of Environmental <br /> Health. <br /> ' Aronson Engineering Incorporated representatives expanded the excavation to accommodate <br /> the new tank being installed. The tank hole was lined with filter fabric and the deadmen <br /> were installed. The new 10,000-gallon double walled steel tank was installed in the open <br /> ' excavation. <br /> 2.2 Soil Sampling <br /> ' Under the direction of Inspector Jerry Yoshioka on March 15, 1995, two soil samples (TP-1 <br /> and TP-2) were collected from the unleaded gasoline tank excavation side walls after removal <br /> of the excavation fill material (Figure 3).
