At the site, this person is responsible <br /> for: <br /> * Notifying appropriate regulatory agencies prior to the <br /> scheduling of site activity; <br /> * Coordinating meetings on the site with personnel to review <br /> Health, and Safety operations prior to implementation of <br /> field work; <br /> * Checking that appropriate personal protective equipment is <br /> utilized by personnel at the site; <br /> * Checking that personnel are aware of the provisions of this <br /> Health and Safety Plan and are familiar with planned <br /> procedures for dealing with emergencies; <br /> * <br /> Checking that personnel are aware of the potential hazards <br /> associated with site operations; <br /> * Implementing project Health and Safety Plans, and reporting <br /> deviations from the anticipated conditions described in the <br /> plans; <br /> * <br /> Monitoring the safety performance of personnel and checking <br /> that the required work practices are employed; <br /> * Providing periodic monitoring and keeping reoords of organic <br /> vapor concentrations within the work space area to assess <br /> potential risks and to evaluate the action levels to be <br /> observed during operations; <br /> * Interrupting observed work practices or conditions that may <br /> result in exposure to hazardous substances; and <br /> * Checking that monitoring equipment is calibrated and <br /> functioning correctly. <br />
