Specification No . : RGS0024-87 <br /> Part II - SPECIFIC CONDITIONS <br /> Section 14 - Electrical Work <br /> 14 . 6 . 3 All work and materials covered by this specification <br /> shall be subject to inspection at all times by Engineer . <br /> If Engineer or P . G . & E . finds that any material does <br /> not conform to these specifications , this Contractor <br /> shall , within three days after being notified by <br /> Engineer , remove the material from premises . If said <br /> material has been installed , the entire expense of <br /> removing and replacing same , including any cutting and <br /> patching that may be necessary , shall be borne by this <br /> Contractor . Work shall not be closed in or covered <br /> before inspection and approval by Engineer or his <br /> representative . Cost of uncovering and making repairs <br /> where uninspected work has been closed in , shall be <br /> borne by this section. <br /> 14. 6 . 4 All materials shall be new , of type and quality <br /> specified , and listed by Underwriters ' Laboratories , <br /> meeting their requirements and bearing their labels <br /> wherever standards have been established and label <br /> service is regularly furnished by that agency . <br /> 14. 6 . 5 Engineer reserves the right to reject any material not <br /> in accordance with the drawings and specifications . <br /> Specific brands , names and catalog numbers are used in <br /> connection with materials to establish standards of <br /> performance and quality . The Contractor shall not <br /> substitute other materials without written permission <br /> from Engineer . Decisions of the Architect shall govern <br /> as to what may be substituted , but burden of proof as to <br /> quality of any proposed substitution shall be upon the <br /> Contractor . <br /> 14 . 6 . 6 Excavations and backfilling shall comply with the <br /> requirements of other Sections of this specification. <br /> 14 . 7 Examination of Site <br /> 14 . 7 . 1 The Contractor shall have examined the site and <br /> familiarized himself with the existing conditions , and <br /> to have made allowance therefore in preparing his <br /> proposal . He shall verify existing conditions , poles <br /> and distribution system. In the event of discrepancies <br /> between exiting conditions and the Drawings , the <br /> Contractor shall bid new conditions , wires , and <br /> necessary equipment in order to complete the job and <br /> XIV-3 <br />
