' BANKS & CO
E. Never assume that traffic sees you. Use vehicle lights and flashers to
' warn others of your presence while setting up traffic signs and bar-
ricades.
F. Because of the various and changing patterns of traffic, conditions and
' work areas it would be impossible to list and diagram all possible
situations. A supervisor will be present and direct all traffic detours
and coordinating efforts to insure safe traffic controls and employee
safety.
G. On foggy days do not attempt to work on busy streets or highways until
adequate visibility is obtained.
' H. In foggy conditions, double up on barricades around work site and be
alert.
J. Never leave an excavation open or improperly barricaded.
12.16 EMERGENCY MEDICAL PROCEDURES
A. Each employee shall make himself aware of the location of all emergency
equipment, procedures and telephone numbers.
B. First aid kits are located behind the seat in every company truck.
C. Emergency procedure is outlined in this program and a copy is in the
' glove compartment of each company truck.
D. Emergency telephone numbers will be posted on the sun-visor of each
company truck.
E. Restock first aid kit when necessary.
F. A supervisor shall always be notified in the event of an emergency, but
never leave a seriously injured person to notify a supervisor if you and
the injured are alone, unless you:
1. Cannot contact another company unit or emergency unit to let
' them know of your location and the emergency.
2. Can Quickly get help a short distance from the victim.
' 3. Or it is a matter of life and death.
G. If an injury occurs, secure the victim in a safe location and then
administer first-aid as needed to make the victim comfortable. Notify
' professional help immediately id warranted, or transport to an emergency
medical facility.
PLEASE NOTE: Never enter into an unsafe location no matter how
' serious the injury to the victim may seem until qualified rescue
or emergency help arrives. Don't be a victim of the same ac-
cident!
' J. Each employee shall take notice of the first aid procedures at the end
of this manual.
13.00 SUMMARY
15 SITE SAFETY PLAN
1
