Inspection Report <br /> ARP Enterprises <br /> Page 2 <br /> the paint is drained and stored for use during the next <br /> paint day. The machine is then rinsed with <br /> approximately five gallons of water. This paint water <br /> mixture is then discharged to a tank. The paint is <br /> manufactured by Glidden Company, is called One O One <br /> Aqualine Redwood Stain. This material comes in fifty <br /> five gallon containers. The company uses approximately <br /> four drums per month. The majority of the empty <br /> containers are given away as burn barrels or are used <br /> at the facility for trash barrels. When a large number <br /> are accumulated they are sent to a drum recycler. The <br /> last time this happened was in 1979 . At that time the <br /> drums were sent to Florence Drum. The other material <br /> used in the painting process is a product called <br /> Petroleum Propriety Blend Silicone Defoamer. This <br /> product comes in one gallon containers and is used as a <br /> defoamer in the paint. It takes approximately six <br /> months to use one gallon and the empty container is <br /> placed in the dumpster. <br /> VII. Violations <br /> 1. Title 22 , California Code of Regulations (Ca. Code <br /> Regs. ) , Section 66471 <br /> Arp Enterprises violated Title 22, Cal. Code <br /> Regs. , Section 66471 in that as of December 7, <br /> 1988 Arp Enterprises has not determined whether or <br /> not its waste stream is hazardous. <br /> Discussion with Mr. Arp revealed that he had just <br /> recently obtained copies of MSDS sheets for <br /> materials used in his business. He had obtained <br /> these only after ,they were requested by Mr. <br /> Favilla of the SJCHD. No other effort has been <br /> made to determin whether or not the waste stream <br /> is hazardous. <br /> 2. Title 22 , Cal. Code Reqs. , Section 66472 <br /> Arp Enterprises violated Title 22 , Cal . Code <br /> Regs. , Section 66472 in that as of December 7, <br /> 1988 Arp Enterprises has failed to obtain an EPA <br /> number. <br /> I asked Mr. Wayne Arp if he had an EPA number. He <br /> said that he didn't, but guessed that he would <br /> have to get one after this. <br /> 3 . Title 22, Cal. Code Regs. , Section 66508 (b) <br /> Arp Enterprises violated Title 22, Cal.
