a • <br /> Tracy Maintenance Service Center <br /> a) Cleanup: <br /> Cleanup procedure for mineral oil spills (PCB less than 5 ppm) <br /> also applies to California Regulated PCB spills. <br /> b) Documentation: <br /> Documentation procedures and requirements for mineral oil <br /> spills (PCB below 5 ppm) also applies to California Regulated <br /> CB spills. <br /> C) Transportation: <br /> PCB Shipping Notice is required for all shipments from the <br /> field to the nearest service center. The vehicle must also have <br /> a copy of the current hazardous material transportation license <br /> issued annually by the CHP, a copy of <br /> the Department of Transportation Emergency Response Guide <br /> (Guide 31), and a copy of the annual PCB Transportation <br /> AVariance. <br /> v) Federal Low Concentration PCB Spills (50 to less than 500 ppm and <br /> less than one pound of pure PCB) <br /> r <br /> a) Cleanup: <br /> 1) Cleanup shall be completed within 48 hours of when the <br /> Company is first made aware of the spill. Completion of <br /> cleanup may only be delayed beyond 48 hours in case of <br /> civil emergency, adverse weather conditions, lack of <br /> access or emergency operating conditions. The <br /> occurrence of a spill on a weekend or overtime cost are <br /> not acceptable reasons to delay cleanup. <br /> 2) Use absorbent material to collect freestanding liquids for <br /> deposit in approved containers. <br /> 3) Remove soil and vegetation to clean up all visible traces <br /> of liquid or stains plus a one foot lateral buffer and deposit <br /> in approved containers. Restore property to its original <br /> condition. <br /> 4) Double wash/rinse all solid surfaces such as walls, <br /> sidewalks, streets, cars, etc., capturing waste liquid with <br /> absorbents for deposit in approved containers. <br /> 5) When easily replaceable property such as furniture, toys, <br /> clothes, etc. are contaminated, it is recommended that <br /> these items be replaced rather than decontaminated. <br /> 6) Manage all cleanup material and debris as federal <br /> hazardous waste. <br /> Page 57 <br />
