Spec No. CGT-TRACY-UST-01-2003 <br /> General Requirements <br /> 01010-3 <br /> • Remove TRAK fuel sentry console and turn over to PG&E. <br /> • Remove and dispose of the concrete fueling island and booth. <br /> • Remove pole-mounted lighting fixture and air/water reels and turn over to PG&E. <br /> Terminate existing underground electrical power supply conduits (from building) in a flush concrete <br /> electrical pull box furnished by Contractor, <br /> Break through both ends of ballast slab to sample underlying soils. <br /> • Backfill bottom of excavation using existing stockpiled clean pea gravel. <br /> • Place layer of filter fabric over pea gravel, then backfill and compact Class 2 aggregate base up to <br /> finish grade. (Compaction 95%of relative maximum density). <br /> Restore A.C. pavement and any other disturbed site improvements. <br /> • Furnish geologist's report covering all closure activities and including copies of all related documents. <br /> • Remove TRAK card lock pedestal and turn over to PG&E for re-use.. <br /> • Install new AC pavement to replace removed existing concrete pavement and island. <br /> • Restore any other disturbed site improvements. <br /> 1.02 SUBSTITUTIONS <br /> A. PG&E has selected and specified certain products and equipment to establish standards and a <br /> level of product acceptability. Products and equipment of equivalent standards may be submitted <br /> for approval as an alternate in the following manner: <br /> 1. Prior to Bid Call Date: Bidder must submit their proposed alternate(s), complete with <br /> supporting engineering data,for PG&E's approval at least two(2) weeks prior to bid call date. <br /> Written acceptance or rejection shall be furnished where applicable. <br /> 2. On Bid Call Date: Alternates can be submitted with the bids for PG&E's approval, provided the <br /> following requirements are met: <br /> a. A detailed description and engineering data covering the proposed substitution are <br /> submitted along with the specified item including a detailed evaluation of where the <br /> products differ. The proposed substitution must meet or exceed the specified product. <br /> b. A statement indicating specific additions or deductions in pricing that would result by <br /> PG&E's acceptance of the proposed alternate(s). <br /> c. The above requirements apply to all substitutions, including items which say "or approved <br /> equal" or"or equal." <br /> 3. Responsibility of Contractor: Contractor shall be responsible for required design changes and <br /> added expense resulting from related work that may result from approved substitutions. <br /> B. After Award of Contract: Substitutions shall not be allowed after award of Contract except under <br /> the following conditions: <br /> 1. A product is no longer manufactured. <br /> 2. Proven delivery delays for a product are beyond Contractor's control and shall cause serious <br /> overall progress delays, and an alternate, acceptable to PG&E, is available for delivery within <br /> the construction schedule. <br /> 1.03 INFORMATION TO BE FURNISHED TO PG&E <br />
