Spec No. CGT-TRACY-UST-01-2003 <br /> General Requirements <br /> 01010-7 <br /> C. Telephone Facilities: There are no existing telephone facilities at the work site, which can be made <br /> available to the Contractor. Contractor shall make all arrangements that he may deem necessary <br /> to insure adequate telephone facilities for Work hereunder. <br /> D. Illumination: Contractor shall provide and maintain necessary lighting to conduct its work in a safe <br /> and workmanlike manner. <br /> E. Electricity: PG&E will furnish electric power required at voltage and current presently available at <br /> the work site at no cost to Contractor. This power will be provided by PG&E at the nearest suitable <br /> existing electrical outlet or other existing source. Temporary or portable wiring beyond the outlet or <br /> other existing source shall be furnished and installed by and at the expense of Contractor and shall <br /> comply with the prevailing codes and standards. Contractor shall remove the above-described <br /> temporary or portable wiring upon completion of work. <br /> F. Heating and Ventilation: Contractor shall provide all temporary heating and ventilating appliances <br /> which may be required for storage, application, and drying of materials used for construction. The <br /> permanent heating and ventilating system at the work site may not be used for construction <br /> purposes unless prior authorization by PG&E in writing. When such use is authorized, filters must <br /> be replaced with new filters prior to acceptance of the Work. Contractor shall remove the above <br /> temporary heating and ventilating appliances prior to completion of the Work. <br /> G. Temporary Fences and Barricades: Contractor shall provide and maintain all temporary fences and <br /> barricades as required for the Work. Contractor shall remove the above temporary fences and <br /> barricades upon the completion of the Work. <br /> H. Storage: Contractor shall provide temporary storage sheds or other enclosed temporary structures <br /> as required or as deemed necessary by PG&E to protect materials and equipment stored on site. <br /> Contractor shall remove the above temporary storage structures prior to the completion of the <br /> Work. <br /> I. Areas for Construction Purposes: <br /> 1. PG&E shall provide all lands and rights-of-way necessary for the Work. <br /> 2. Contractor shall limit the activities and operations of its employees and subcontractors to the <br /> boundaries of the area designated by PG&E. <br /> 3. Contractor shall reimburse PG&E for any payments made to the owners involved for any <br /> damages to adjacent property resulting from actions of Contractor, its employees, or its <br /> subcontractors. <br /> 4. Contractor shall not directly negotiate or enter into any agreements with adjacent property <br /> owners. Any desired communication between Contractor and adjacent property owners shall <br /> be through PG&E. <br /> 1.06 WORK PROTECTION AND SAFEGUARDS <br /> A. Safety: Contractor shall provide and maintain sufficient lanterns, barriers, barricades, temporary <br /> walks, plafforms, and other safeguards as required for the safety of their employees and others in <br /> the vicinity, as required by Federal, State, and local laws, rules, and regulations. <br /> Nothing contained in the Specification shall relieve Contractor from furnishing and maintaining <br /> stretchers, blankets,first aid kits, and any other emergency medical supplies as required by any <br />
