' B. Installation Instructions for 522 Remote Monitoring System
1. Mount Isolated Electrical Outlet for 522 Monitor: At the circuit breaker
panel, locate the breakers for the gasoline dispensers (all dispensers should be on
' the same phase leg). Install a new 15-amp circuit breaker on the same phase leg
and, for optimum communications, in the same panel. From the breaker, run a
dedicated circuit for an electrical outlet for the 522 Monitor Panel, preferably
' avoiding the wiring raceway(position the outlet as shown on pages 3 and 5). It is
critical that the outlet be on the same phase as the dispensers—the system
will not work properly if the outlet is on a separate phase or if the power for
' the outlet is derived from a power conditioner or transformer.
If the 522 Serial Relay Interface System is being installed to shut down gasoline
dispensers or submersible turbine pumps in the event of vehicular impact or fuel
leaks, continue on to#2 below—if not, proceed directly to installing and programming
the 522 Remote Monitor. Complete instructions are located in "Programming the 522
Remote Monitoring System".
2. Data and Power Connections for the 522 Remote Monitor: Pages 3-6
show suggested installation diagrams and wiring diagrams with or without the
Brown electrical panel and Pages 7-8 show input/output information. After
reviewing these pages, connect the power and signal data harness to the 522
' Remote Monitor Panel(see page 8-Al). Next, connect the output conductors to
the Veeder Root TLS-350 (page 8-Bl and B2—if connecting system to TLS-350).
These connections must be made before mounting the alarm panel as they are
' located on the back side of the alarm panel.
3. Mounting the 522 Serial Relay System and 522 Remote Monitor: The 522
Serial Relay Interface System receives alarm input from the 522 Monitor and, in
the case of a fuel or dispenser impact alarm, sends a signal to either a Brown
electrical panel DM-EX module or to the 522 Relay Boxes (alarm data is received
1 through the Serial Harness) in order to shut off power to the individual gasoline
dispensers. The 522 Serial Relay Interface System should be mounted as shown
on pages 3 or 5 (use the appropriate diagram) and the 522 Remote Monitor panel
' should be mounted on the cover of the Serial Relay Interface box (mounting holes
are located on the cover and mounting hardware is in the bag) or to the wall.
tPower is supplied to the 522 Serial Relay Interface System through the wall
mount transformer(Tamura 12VAC). Connect the 3-wire power harness to the
transformer as shown below:
Blue
' Red
White Ground
IPage 9
