IOnce the power connections have been made, check to see if the 522 Serial Relay
System is functional by plugging in the transformer. Check to see that all LEDs
on the board come on when the power is turned on. If LEDs are not all on, cycle
power on the transformer and check to see that the serial data harness is plugged
into the 522 Remote Monitor.
4. Connecting to Brown Electrical Panel: If a Brown electrical panel is
installed at the site and the panel has the DM-EX dispenser control modules
installed, the 522 Serial Relay Interface System will need to be connected to each
DM-EX board (the DM-EX control circuit is 110V and must be run in appropriate
conduit).
Turn power off to 522 Serial Relay Interface System until all connections
described below are made.
For interfacing to the DM-EX modules, the 522 Serial Relay Interface System
will need to have one 12VDC relay factory-installed for each DM-EX board.
Remove the cover of the 522 Serial Relay Interface System and make sure there is
1 relay per dispenser. The relay for dispenser 1 will be located next to the red
LED labeled"LED1". Located next to the relay is a terminal block labeled
"TB 1" (see page 4). Contact Beaudreau Customer Service at (800) 739-4435 if
there are either no relays or insufficient relays.
Run two conductors from TB 1 to the Dispenser 1 DM-EX module through
appropriate conduit(see pages 3-4). Locate and remove the factory-installed
"Remote Off"jumper on the DM-EX board and connect the 2 wires at the 2-
connector terminal. Once all connections have been made, power to the 522
Serial Relay Interface System can be turned on. After properly programming the
sensors and system, make sure the serial data harness' 9-pin D-sub connector is
connected to the 522 Remote Monitor panel(do not add any extension to the
harness as the serial data transmission range is limited to 3 feet).
4. Connecting to 522 Relay Boxes (No Brown Panel): If the Brown panel is
not installed at the site, it will be necessary to use the 522 Relay Boxes for
i shutting off power to the dispensers when a fuel or dispenser alarm occurs. Each
■ 522 Relay Box can break up to 6 hot legs feeding a dispenser(If additional
circuits are present, contact Beaudreau Customer Service at 1-800-739-4435 for
additional relays). Locate the 522 Relay Boxes—there should be one per
dispenser. Label the boxes to identify which dispenser they will be feeding. The
boxes should be mounted in a small attached gutter(as shown on page 5 or as
required per the site). Next, identify the 110V conductors in the wiring trough
that are feeding the first dispenser. If they are not labeled, use an AC clamp-on
meter or voltage detector to identify the circuits. With all circuit breakers off,
turn on only the circuit breaker feeding the first dispenser. Using the clamp-on
meter, determine the circuits that are feeding the dispenser and label them.
Page 10
