LPhase II Environmental Site Assessment Report-Executive Summary
1025 East Main Street,Stockton,San Joaquin County,Califomia
Page 3
The coordinates of the soil sampling locations were documented by a hand held global positioning
system (GPS). A Condor representative collected the soil samples at the Site on December 11 and 12,
2007. The soil and groundwater boring location coordinates are summarized in Table 1. The soil was
L sampled from the former Western Pacific railroad tracks on the east side of the property, around the
perimeter of the train depot, and from the former rail spur areas on the western portion of the Site(Figure
3, Appendix A). The soil samples were collected from the surface approximately 0 to 6 inches bgs, and
approximately 1.0 to 3.0 feet bgs from the subsurface.
Table 1—Soil and Groundwater Boring Location Coordinates
Sample Latitude Longitude
IDs
i B1 37.95565 -121.27776
B2 37.95488 -121.27749
B3 37.95575 -121.27716
B4 37.95500 -121.27696
Ir
WP1 37.95524 -121.27702
L WP2 37.95559 -121.27712
RS1 37.95560 -121.27786
L RS2 37.95542 -121.27774
RS3 37.95514 -121.27780
L RS4 37.95559 -121.27748
L Notes:Coordinates provided in North American Datum(NAD)of 1983.
Sample ID: B=Boring,WP=Western Pacific Railroad(east property),RS=Rail Spur(west property).
3.3 GROUNDWATER SAMPLING
LFour direct push borings were advanced into the groundwater for the purpose of collecting groundwater
samples. The approximate locations of the borings are shown in Figure 3, Appendix A. One groundwater
sample was collected from each boring. The groundwater samples were collected using a push-type
groundwater sampler. The groundwater sampler and associated push rods were thoroughly cleaned
before each sample was collected using a solution of laboratory-grade, non-phosphate detergent, and
double rinsing with deionized water. The groundwater sampler has a sealed, retrievable stainless steel
screen. The groundwater sampler was pushed in a closed position to the desired sampling interval. The
groundwater sampler's push rod was retracted to expose the inlet screen. Groundwater flowed
f hydrostatically from the formation into the inlet screen. A groundwater sample was retrieved from within
` the screen with a 3/8-inch diameter stainless steel bailer. The bailer was decontaminated by washing with
a hot water pressure washer and then double rinsed with de-ionized water prior to use at each sample
location. Each of the four groundwater samples were discharged directly from the bailer into laboratory-
supplied sample containers. The four sample containers were sealed and labeled for sample identification
and placed in a cooler chilled with ice. Upon completion of the borings and sampling, the borings were
grouted to surface with neat cement.
tr
s
Lt.l CONDO
