All hazardous waste containers shall be closed <br /> at all times except when adding or removing waste. Immediately close these containers and ensure all hazardous <br /> waste containers are closed when not adding or removing waste. <br /> This is a repeat violation, Class II. <br /> 406 CCR 66261.7 Contaminated container not marked with date emptied or managed within one year of being emptied. <br /> One red 16 gallon metal drum containing oily debris and paper filters was observed without a lid. Containers larger <br /> than five gallons that previously held a hazardous material shall be marked with the date they were emptied and <br /> managed within one year of being emptied. Immediately mark and manage all empty containers per this section. <br /> This is a minor violation. <br /> 601 CCR 66262.34(d)Stored hazardous waste onsite greater than 180 days. <br /> The following containers were observed without an accumulation start date: <br /> -One blue 55 gallon poly drum containing used antifreeze(3/4 full) <br /> -One blue and one white 55 gallon metal drum containing used oil(1/2 full, 3/4 full) <br /> -One white 5 gallon poly drum containing used absorbent(1/2 full) <br /> -One white 5 gallon poly drum containing waste gasoline(1/4 full) <br /> Facilities who generate less than 1000 kg of hazardous waste per month and do not exceed 6000 kg of waste <br /> stored on site at any time may store waste on site up to 180 days. Since it cannot be determined how long the <br /> hazardous waste has been on site, immediately contact a licensed hazardous waste hauler to dispose of this waste <br /> under manifest.
