Notes from my conversation with Gail Wiggett on April 30, 1999
2. Work plan for additional soil&groundwater investigation dated April 26, 1999
3. Reports of the previous soil & groundwater investigation performed by GTI in January 1999
and March 1999
4. Reports of the soil cleanup work performed by Universal for Fortifiber in 1995
According to Gail Wiggett of the CRWQCB-CVR, soil and groundwater samples in the former
storage area should be tested for the 5 LUFT metals (Cd, Cr, Ld,Ni, & Zn)by method 6010 and
semi-volatile organic compounds by method 8270. These have been proposed in the April 26,
1999 work plan.
During a subsequent conversation with Gail on April 30, 1999, she recommended that the area
downgradient of GP-9(northeast of the warehouse) should also be investigated. So Carol, as you
review these documents, please call me to discuss ideas or concerns.
Fonzia and Rehrig need to have resolution to the environmental issues at this site ASAP. Our
goal is to provide adequate information for Fonzia to obtain a No Further Action (NFA) letter.
So before we drill, lets be sure we are addressing both your concerns and Gail's concerns for this
site.
Thank you for you imely review and you attention to this project.
S? -
Y;tg
Ray K.ablanow
MAY Y 4 1999
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALT
PERMIT/SERVICES
