E <br />ACME TRUCK PARTS am <br />• Steps Acme Truck Parts has taken to lessen or prevent exposure to these substances; <br />• Emergency and first aid procedures to follow if employees are to exposed hazardous <br />substance(s); and, <br />• How to read labels and review MSDS's to obtain appropriate hazard information. <br />2. Periodic Training: Whenever a new product or procedure is to be incorporated, employees will be <br />trained to safely incorporate it into your work. <br />3. Annual Training: Each year a complete refresher training will be done to review all the components <br />of the Initial Safety Training. <br />• DAMAGE CONTROL: In order to minimize the damage in the event of a release of hazardous materials Acme Truck <br />Parts Hazardous Communications Plan includes: <br />• Providing absorbents and rags in each work area; <br />• Providing fire extinguishers in each work area; <br />• Instructing employees in the location and use of emergency shut off valves and power switches; <br />• Notifying employees when a release occurs; <br />• Notifying neighboring businesses when a release occurs; <br />• EVACUATION: Because of the small size of the work area and the small number of employees, verbal notification, <br />phone notification, and the building paging system will be used in the event of an emergency and will be provided by <br />the Safety Officer, Nathan Davidson. A lead person has been appointed to act in the absence of the Safety Officer to <br />notify employees and proper agencies. (See Emergency Procedures Guide in the back of this handbook for more <br />information). <br />• EMERGENCY NOTIFICATIONS: In the event of a hazardous material release the following notifications will be <br />made: <br />• 911 for local police, fire, and medical; <br />• (1-800) 852-7550 for the State Office of Emergency Services; and <br />• (209) 468-3962 San Joaquin County Office Of Emergency Services <br />(209) 488-3969 (Hazardous Materials Division) <br />
